About the course
This course encompasses experts from Ophthalmology, Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgery, and Dermatology, with the purpose of offering
participants a systematic and hands-on understanding of periocular
oncology, anatomy, and the primary surgical techniques pertinent to
this field. The course emphasizes guiding clinical thought processes of
diagnosis and treatment of malignant tumours, the selection algorithm
for each technique, and practical tips for circumventing complications.
This will be a 2-day course: Day 1: Theoretical presentations on the diagnosis and therapeutic approach in periocular oncology, surgical anatomy, techniques of reconstruction and non-surgical treatments. Day 2: A practical, hands-on experience with various techniques of reconstruction on cadavers under the mentorship of experienced tutors.
By the end, participants will not only have an in-depth knowledge of periocular oncology (diagnosis and treatment selection), surgical anatomy of the eyelids and periocular area but will also gain expertise in the most commonly used surgical techniques of reconstruction through hands-on practice with cadavers.
